Cold War missile captain gives talk for Drum Hill DAR
As part of its commitment to the Vietnam War Commemorative Partner Program, Drum Hill DAR sponsors a series of lectures given by veterans of the Vietnam era. This month, former missile captain and Redding resident, Robert Abshire, spoke of his personal experiences (1966-1970) as a Cold War era Titan Missile captain.
The 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War Commemorative Partner Program was designed to help organizations thank and honor Vietnam era veterans and their families. Commemorative Partners pledge to conduct two events or activities per year, for three years.
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization, dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and historical properties, and securing America's future through better education for our children.
Any woman who is interested in knowing more about DAR or in making an application for admission is encouraged to contact the chapter registrar, firstname.lastname@example.org. The next program of the Vietnam series will be on April 21. If you are interested in attending this or any other meeting, please contact the regent email@example.com.
