Charity moves into new home
Circle of Care christened its new offices at 144 Danbury Road (Lambert Corner) with a gala reception on April 25. The organization offers financial and emotional support to families facing a diagnosis of childhood cancer. Among the officials, friends, and supporters celebrating with Circle of Care were three special guests — Megan, Steven, and Cassidy Clapp.
The Clapps’ only daughter, Cassidy, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in October 2015 when she was just 3. She recently underwent her last treatment. Speaking of their experience with Circle of Care, Steven Clapp said that even though he has ‘good’ insurance, the family was soon overwhelmed with thousands of dollars of costs not covered. They turned to Circle of Care, which helped them through a financial crisis. Megan Cassidy recalled how she relied on the emotional support she received from the organization, including co-founder Liz Salguero.
