Cannondale ranked 41st best place to live in Connecticut

Wilton's Cannondale Village is the 41st best place to live in Connecticut, according to's 2016 ranking.

Each year, AreaVibes uses a livability score to rank more than 35,000 cities and neighborhoods in the United States and determine the best places to live.

According to AreaVibes, the highest-ranked areas have lots of local amenities, low crime rates, inexpensive cost of living, great schools, low unemployment rates, affordable housing, and sunny weather.

Cannondale received a livability score of 78 based on the following grades:

  • Crime: A+

  • Cost of living: F

  • Education: A+

  • Employment: B+

  • Housing: A

  • Weather D+

According to AreaVibes, the "extremely livable" Cannondale has a population of 110, and its population density is 52% lower and its median age 36% higher than Connecticut's state averages.

Cannondale's livability score is two points higher than the state average and six points higher than the nationwide average.

Wilton Center

With a 72 livability score, Wilton Center was ranked the 116th best place to live in Connecticut based on the following grades:

  • Cost of living: F

  • Education: A

  • Employment: B

  • Housing: A

  • Weather: C

According to AreaVibes, the "very livable" Wilton Center has a population of 846, and its population density is 313% higher and its median age 10% higher than Connecticut's state averages.

Wilton Center's livability score is four points lower than Connecticut's average.

With an 86 livability score, Darien topped the list of Best Places to Live in Connecticut this year, followed by:

  • Riverside (85 livability score).

  • Westport (85 livability score).

  • Ridgefield (84 livability score).

No Connecticut towns are among the top 50 Best Places to Live in America  this year. The closest town to Wilton on the list is Bronxville, N.Y., which received an 87 livability score.

According to AreaVibes, the No. 1 best place to live in 2016 is Las Palmas, Tex., which received a livability score of 91.
