Dave Brubeck is a Wilton icon. The musical legend's 92nd birthday party is planned as a star-studded evening of jazz, featuring Richie Cannata, sax player for Billy Joel, and Bernie Williams, former New York Yankees star and jazz guitarist. Mr. Brubeck's son, pianist Darius Brubeck, will also be there as well as some surprise guests.

"Brubeck's Birthday Bash" will take place Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7:30, at the Palace Theater in Waterbury. Proceeds will benefit Jazz'd4Life, a local nonprofit organization started by Mr. Brubeck's daughter Catherine Yaghsizian five years ago. It's mission is to build opportunities for young people around the world by supporting schools, orphanages, medical clinics, camps, and food and clean water programs. Among the group's beneficiaries are Ahievement First Academy in Bridgeport, Americares in Stamford and Camp Farnam in Durham, Conn.

Tickets for the birthday bash are priced at $35, $48 and $75, and may be purchased at the Palace Theater box office (203-346-200) or online at palacetheaterct.org.

Jazz'd4Life will also host a private champagne and cake reception (limited tickets for $50) with the band and members of the Brubeck family following the show.
