While we’re looking back 50 years, Wilton’s 1967 Memorial Day parade drew its biggest crowd ever, numbering in the thousands, according to The Bulletin. Several hundred scouts, nine fire trucks and “more floats than ever” made the parade the longest it had ever been.

The first marchers neared Hillside Cemetery as the end of the parade stepped off in Wilton Center, nearly a mile away. The Wilton High School Band provided marching music and played the national anthem at the memorial service.
