Animals In Distress selling T-shirts, but hurry
Time is running out for Animals In Distress, a local shelter for cats and kittens, to sell out its order of summer-weight T-shirts as a fundraiser to help care for the felines and buy food.
“We are hoping to sell 50 T-shirts,” said Katherine Reid, president of the organization at 238 Danbury Road. The deadline is Friday, Aug. 26.
There are now 23 cats and 10 kittens in foster care at the shelter.
“We’re doing the T-shirt sale to raise money. It’s not a huge amount of money, but we did our T-shirt campaign last fall with long sleeves to help support the shelter, and this one is with short sleeves,” Reid said.
The Web address to order a T-shirt is https://www.booster.com/animals-in-distress-cats
For $20, customers pick a size and color and it is delivered to their door. The design features an illustration of cats on the front, and the slogan, “the best little cathouse in Connecticut.”
“It’s fun and it gives the shelter exposure,” Reid said.
