The Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps will offer an emergency medical technician (EMT) certification course that meets all national registry and state requirements.

It will be offered Feb. 20 through June 16. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 10 p.m. plus one Saturday each month from 9 to 5, at Comstock Community Center, 180 School Road.

Students will also spend four hours observing the Norwalk Hospital emergency room. Clinical time on the Norwalk ambulance with at least 10 patient contacts is also required.

Students must pass a written and practical exam. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the National Registry Exam and state practical exams. This course is offered in conjunction with Norwalk Hospital.

Tuition is $975, which includes textbooks. The entire cost is reimbursable if the student joins the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps and remains an active member in good standing after one year.

Students must be at least 16 years old at the time of the state exam.

Register at the Wilton Parks and Recreation website at wiltonparksandrec.org. The course code is 9792.
