Wilton First Selectman Bill Brennan announced this morning, Saturday, Nov. 3, there will be 24 line crews working in town today to restore power, along with eight tree crews and six service crews. The town’s four DPW crews will also be out working, aided by 20 chain saw specialists from the U.S. Forest Service.

“Significant progress” in power restoration is expected today, he said. According to the CL&P outage map at 11 this morning, there are still nearly 5,000 without power, although this map fluctuates.

Areas of concentration will be:

Westport Road (Route 33)

Sturges Ridge Road

Hurlbutt Street

Millstone Road

Ruscoe Road

Range Road

Olmstead Hill Road

Pin Oak

Ridgefield Road North

He added that CL&P had given an estimated restoration date for Wilton of Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 11:30 p.m.

More bottled water has been requested from the state and should be available at the fire house on Route 7 later today.
