Police: Route 2 lanes reopen after tractor-trailer jackknifed in East Hartford

EAST HARTFORD — The two right lanes on Route 2 westbound were closed for about four hours Friday after a tractor-trailer jackknifed in East Hartford, according to state police and the Department of Transportation.

State police were called to the crash near Pitkin Street just before 1 p.m. Friday.

The far right lanes between exits 3 and 4 were closed on the westbound side of the highway, the DOT reported.

Emergency medical personnel, the local fire department and state police were at the scene, and the DOT and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection were also requested, state police said.

The lanes were closed until around 4:50 p.m., according to the DOT.
