Nan Merolla photosMembers of the Wilton Garden Club were out in force Thursday, preparing for today's opening of the Art in Bloom flower and art exhibition at Old Town Hall, 69 Ridgefield Road. The show takes place Friday, Oct. 13, from 1 to 5, and Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 to 4. Admission is $10. The show features 28 floral works of art inspired by the paintings, photographs and sculpture of seven area artists. Also featured are a floral display i the historic grotto garden, fairy gardens by girl scouts, garden crafts made by Wilton seniors, educational displays on the Wilton Pollinator Pathway and the Mary Beth Wheeler Herbarium, a collection of more than 1,200 preserved plant specimens from Fairfield County. Old Town Hall's main room will also feature specimens of annuals, perennials, bulbs, dahlias, and other plants grown by entrants to the NGC (National Garden Clubs) Standard Show.
