Workshop addresses divorce ‘myths’

Wilton attorney Maurice Segall will offer a free educational seminar called Divorce “Mythbusters” on Thursday, Jan. 28, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Family & Children’s Agency, 9 Mott Avenue, in Norwalk. He will be joined by Lili Vasileff, a divorce financial professional.

The program, he said, will be suitable both for those considering divorce as well as professionals who work with divorcing clients.

Some of the myths that will be addressed are:

  • Everything is split 50-50;

  • I’ll automatically get half his income as alimony;

  • It’s in my name so it’s all mine.

Segall has lived in Wilton since 2001 and practices divorce mediation from his office at 190 Old Ridgefield Road and an office in Stamford. He has practiced law for more than 27 years, and divorce mediation for 20 years.
