Woodcock Nature Center's Evening Under the Stars features animal ‘catwalk’

The Woodcock Nature Center will host its annual silent auction fund-raiser, Evening Under the Stars, in the nature center’s outdoor pavilion on Saturday, June 1, at 7.

The evening’s guest of honor is Patrice Gillespie, chosen because of her support of the nature center and other local environmental causes. Ms. Gillespie was for many years a director of Woodcock Nature Center and also serves locally on the Wilton Go Green board, the Wilton Energy Commission, and the Wilton Conservation Commission. Professionally, she is the community outreach coordinator for Clean Water Action, where she helps homeowners find ways to save money on energy costs by weatherizing their homes.

Evening Under the Stars will feature music by the steel drum band Wilton Steel. Catering and beverages are being donated by Bernard’s of Ridgefield, 109 Cheese and Wine, Heavenly Bites, The Cake Boutique, Cellar XV and Palm Ale.

New to the event this year will be a “catwalk” of some of the nature center’s most interesting animals. Attendees will have a chance to bid to sponsor an animal for all or part of the year.

Tickets to the event are $60 per person. To purchase tickets, visit woodcocknaturecenter.org.
