Start your own business
On Friday, April 12, the Wilton Senior Center will host “Starting your Own Business” with Peter Engstrom. It is not uncommon to find seniors, both retired and non-retired, who have thought about starting their own business and why not! If you are among those who have toyed with this thought, you may wish to join us for this brief introduction intended to help you evaluate your idea, and identify some of the key steps toward success. The program will discuss the following:
- Important qualities of an entrepreneur.
- Key pitfalls and how to avoid them.
- The importance and key elements of a business plan.
- Identifying your “USP” (Unique Selling Proposition).
- Your “elevator speech.”
- What to expect on the “road to success.”
