Wilton League of Women Voters offers health care talk
The Wilton League of Women Voters welcomes Victoria Veltri, JD, LLM, the executive director of the Connecticut Office of the Healthcare Advocate, as guest speaker at the league’s annual meeting on Friday, June 7, at the Rolling Hills Country Club on Hurlbutt Street. Ms. Veltri’s presentation will focus on the federal Affordable Care Act and its importance for Connecticut residents.
Ms. Veltri is an attorney with extensive legal experience in health care advocacy and legislative policy. She joined the healthcare advocate’s staff as the office’s general counsel in 2006 and was sworn in as the state’s healthcare advocate in 2011. The mission of her agency is to assist consumers with healthcare issues: helping them make informed decisions when selecting a health plan, assisting them in resolving problems with their health plans, and advocating on healthcare policy.
The league’s annual meeting begins at 11:15 and will include a brief business meeting and lunch before Ms. Veltri’s presentation. Attendance is $35 with advance reservations required. It is open to league members, guests, and friends.
