Mythical, Magical Summer Reading, Now through Aug. 15, Wilton Library. Children can register all summer long for the summer reading program. They will receive prices for every 10 books or 500 pages they read. The last day for logging summer reading to receive regular prizes is Saturday, Aug. 13. Teen Summer Reading Program, Now through Aug. 15, Wilton Library. Weekly, teens entering grades 6-12 can access EVANCED, the online program to record the number of pages read. Literary Elements Adult Reading Program, Now through Aug. 17, 10-8, Wilton Library. Adults can register for the library’s first-ever adult summer reading program online and then list each book they have read this summer by writing a brief review. Walk and Chalk 2014, organized by the Wilton Arts Council, July 12, starting at 10 a.m. during the Chamber of Commerce’s annual street fair. Open to children, families and adults who would like to showcase their art on a sidewalk section of Old Ridgefield Road.  To reserve a sidewalk section in advance, contact Sandra Wear at sandra@wiltonarts.org or 203-849-7775. There is no charge for participating. If you do not have chalk, it may be obtained from the council on the day of the event for a small fee.

Wilton Historical Society celebrates the newly rejuvenated 1740 Colonial Herb Garden at a wine and cheese party Thursday, July 17, 4 to 7, at the society’s museum complex at 224 Danbury Road.
