Trails Day hike June 8

National Trails Day and Connecticut Trails Day Weekend is June 7-8 this year.

The public is invited to join the Norwalk River Watershed Association (NRWA) and Woodcock Nature Center for a free guided walk and discussion of Connecticut’s wildflowers and invasive species led by Dave Havens, an NRWA board member and St. Luke’s School Environmental Science teacher.

The hike leaves from Woodcock Nature Center, 54 Deer Run Road, at 2 on Sunday, June 8. To register or for more information, email info@norwalkriver.org or call 877-NRWA-INFO (877-679-2463). All ages welcome.

NRWA, incorporated in 1996, is a nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to improve the water quality and aesthetic value of the 40,000-acre Norwalk River watershed; to encourage recreational use of the existing trails and open space; and to promote research, education, cooperation, and action on the part of the stakeholders in the watershed towns of Weston, Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, New Canaan, Norwalk, and Lewisboro, N.Y.
