Trail blazing

Volunteers and supporters of the Norwalk River Valley Trail are invited to help clear brush from the next segment of the Wilton Loop — Sharp Hill Road to Raymond Lane — on Saturday, June 7, from 9 to 1.

Work will consist of hauling cut brush, pole sawing, leaf blowing, and weed wrenching. Tools will be provided, but you may feel free to bring your own, if you prefer. Tree cutting will have been completed in advance of the work day.

Volunteers should meet at Autumn Ridge Road off Sharp Hill Road at 9. This is a small neighborhood road, carpooling would be a good idea. Volunteers should wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy shoes, and bring work gloves. Water will be provided.

This work is important to help move the project ahead swiftly and take advantage of a short window in the professional trail builders’ schedule.
