The feudal hand of the Taliban

Three Connecticut women will discuss their struggles to improve the lot of Afghani women Thursday, Sept. 18, when they are guests at the senior luncheon at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.

The women, one Afghani born, will describe their efforts to bring education opportunities to Afghan women.

Constance Tate, a World YWCA representative to the UN; Elizabeth Titus, a professional writer working with the Afghan Women’s Writing Project and the SOLA school in Afghanistan; and Shekaiba Bennett will be the speakers.

Lunch is at noon. For reservations, call 203-762-7400.
