Thursday night in July is concert night at Wilton Library, as the popular Summer Music & More Concert Series opens July 11 at 5, with Wilton’s Chance Browne and his band.

This is the 13th summer for concerts at the library, sponsored for as many years by The Village Market. In addition to the July concerts from 5 to 6:30, there will be a special performance in August.

The funk/blues sound of Chance Browne and the Twinkies will be followed by:

• The Bernadettes, returning to the library from the New Haven area, offering a disco/Motown sound  on July 18;

• Echoes of Sinatra with Steve Kazlauskas of Ridgefield on July 25, a new entertainer for the library crooning his way through the Great American Songbook.

The special performance will be by vocal group, In Harmony from the Danbury area, performing on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7. The group is  returning for its sixth year with songs of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

“This was an unusual year with July 4th on a Thursday giving us one less Thursday night, plus the fact that members of In Harmony now have “day-job” commitments requiring travel, so the Saturday night alternative was selected,” said Janet Crystal, concert promoter for the library. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of The Village Market, we are able to delight the Wilton community with a wonderful line-up for our 13th year, which still includes In Harmony.”

The Summer Music & More Concert Series is free to everyone, along with the refreshments provided. Michael Crystal will once again donate the wine for the concerts. Performances are in the Brubeck Room which has sliding glass doors to the adjacent courtyard, thereby permitting the shows to go on regardless of the weather.
