Senior luncheon features soprano

Following the seniors’ luncheon at noon on Thursday, Oct. 24, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on New Canaan Road, soprano Ellen Zimmer Lewis will present a program called Our Favorite Things. She will be accompanied on piano by St. Matthew’s Director of Music Rodney Ayers and their presentation will include beloved songs from the American songbook, musical theater and spirituals.

With a master of music degree from Yale and an artist diploma in opera from the Hartt School of Music, Ms. Zimmer Lewis has won numerous musical honors and performed both in the United States and Europe. Locally, she and her husband, Darin Lewis, are scheduled to appear on March 19, 2014 at St. Paul’s on the Green in Norwalk as part of the noon recital series.

Ms. Zimmer Lewis lives in Stamford with her husband and children Grace and Ben and dog Lucy. She is currently the soprano section leader at St. Francis Episcopal in North Stamford.
