Sanders looks at Wilton society through its architecture
Architect Rob Sanders will discuss Wilton Rediscovered: A Social History Through Its Architecture and Land on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Wilton Kiwanis Club meeting.
A Wilton High School graduate, Sanders’ firm, Rob Sanders Architects LLC, is based in the Carriage Barn in Cannondale. His practice, which extends to residential and small commercial projects in southwestern Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and northern California, takes particular note of historical and environmental context in building design, as well as focusing on energy efficiency and practical construction techniques.
Here in Wilton, he is vice chairman of the Ogden House Board of Trustees, a member of the Wilton Center Design Review Commission, and moderator of the Norfield Congregational Church in Weston. He has served on numerous town building committees, and served for 10 years on the Wilton Conservation Commission.
The Kiwanis Club meets at the Episcopal-Presbyterian complex on New Canaan Road from noon to 1:30. Guests are welcome but reservations are required. For more information, call Bud Taylor at 203-354-0208.
