Medicare open enrollment ends Dec. 7
Medicare beneficiaries are advised to review their plans each year and open enrollment concludes on Friday, Dec. 7.
This is the time when beneficiaries may enroll in a plan that provides Part D drug coverage, either in a stand-alone prescription drug plan (PDP) with their Original Medicare OR as part of their Medicare Advantage with drug coverage which includes health benefits (MA-PD).
Beneficiaries in Wilton may call Wilton Social Services at 203-834-6238 to schedule a confidential appointment with a certified counselor. They may also call Southwestern CT Agency on Aging CHOICES program at 800-994-9422 to review their plan with a certified CHOICES counselor. CHOICES counselors provide free and unbiased information on Medicare and Medicare plans.
The Agency on Aging is urging those eligible to review Medicare options during open enrollment period and recommends annual reviews of Medicare coverage. During the open enrollment period, beneficiaries can enroll in a plan that provides Part D drug coverage — either in a stand-alone prescription drug plan with their original Medicare or as part of their Medicare Advantage with drug coverage, which includes health benefits.
