UPDATE: Jan. 21, 3 p.m. — A representative of the governor's office announced the cancellation was not due to weather but a scheduling conflict.

11:12 a.m. — It has been announced that Gov. Dannel Malloy’s visit to Cannon Grange, scheduled for tonight, Jan. 21, is cancelled “due to weather.”

“Our lecturer and program director received word around 5 p.m. [yesterday] that Gov. Malloy will be canceling his visit to the Grange due to weather,” representatives of the Grange said.

Originally set to follow Malloy’s visit, the Apple Blossom School and Family Center presentation on the importance of early childhood education will now commence at 7 p.m., when Malloy was expected to arrive.

This event is open to the public. Doors open before 7. Light refreshments will be served.
