"Make a Difference" with train stations clean up

The Center for Coastal Preservation, a Wilton 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, invites volunteers to help on Oct. 26 for “ Make a Difference Day” from 11 to 1 at the Wilton Train Station on Depot Road. The day will start with an explanation of what the group is, what it is trying to accomplish and an overview of the area which will be cleaned. The group’s goal is to prevent trash from entering the Norwalk River, which flows into Long Island Sound.

Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy footwear and bring their own work gloves. The Center for Coastal Preservation will supply garbage bags and forms to record what is picked up.

Participants will join thousands of volunteers worldwide who are in engaged in coastal and waterway cleanup days in an effort to improve the environment one area at a time.
