Free income tax help

Wilton taxpayers with low to moderate incomes may receive free help with their federal and state tax returns through the Tax-Aide program sponsored by AARP. Membership in AARP is not required.

Tax sessions will be held in the Dayton room at the Ridgefield Library, 472 Main Street, by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be accommodated.

The sessions are scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. each Thursday, beginning Feb. 5 through April 9.

Taxpayers can have their returns submitted electronically by e-file for quicker filing and refunds. The taxpayer must be available at the session to sign forms, and if married, both husband and wife must be present.
