Members of the Drum Hill Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will have their Christmas party on Thursday, Dec. 19, at the home of Mrs. Alan Andrews, at 66 Fairview Farm Road Redding.

The program will feature Shalini Madaras, a Gold Star Mother from Wilton, who lost her son in Iraq. She has spearheaded a movement called Homes for Brave, the first community-based transitional facilities in Connecticut dedicated to providing for homeless female veterans and their children under five years old. So far three homes in Bridgeport have served 780 women in areas such as vocational training, mental disorders and personal relationships.

A brief business meeting will precede a potluck luncheon, followed by Mrs. Madaras’s presentation. For more information, call Regent Mrs. William Bendix at 203-762-1379.
