Cannon Grange: Food talk, holiday market

Cannon Grange has several special events coming up next month.

An informative and interactive seminar on Unraveling the Mysteries of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) will be delivered by Christine O’Day and Carol Peregine of ConnFACT on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and students and adults are encouraged to attend. The topic of GMOs in the food chain is a current topic of inquiry by many people who want to know where their food comes from. The public is invited to participate in the debate on this current topic.

Holiday market

The grange hall will be transformed into a European-style Christmas market on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 to 3. Local artisans and craftsmen will be on hand to offer a variety of gift items for sale including handmade quilts, fine and antique jewelry, plants for holiday decorations, baked goods, pressed-flower stationery, candies and more. Admission is free.

Cannon Grange is at 25 Cannon Road and parking for both events is available at the grange hall or across the road at the Cannondale train station.
