5K benefits two Wilton families

The Wilton Newcomers Club is planning its first Shamrock Shuffle 5K Charity Race, which will take place  Saturday March 16, starting at 9 a.m. at the Wilton Public Library. The race will benefit two Wilton community members.

The first beneficiary is the SMS Research Foundation in the name of the Iannuzzi family, who have a daughter with Smith-Magenis Syndrome. For information on the foundation, visit smsresearchfoundation.org/ and Jennifer Iannuzzi’s blog, strengthforsydney.org.

Also benefiting is Wilton Police Officer Frank Razzaia, who is undergoing stage 3 lymphoma treatments and who has three young children.

Registration is $25 in advance, $30 the day of the race. Runners may register at active.com through Friday March 15 or on the day of the race.

Supporting this event through food and beverage donations as well as timing equipment and T-shirts are: Kilometers, Stop & Shop, LA Fitness, John’s Best, Steve’s Bagels, and Fleur de Lis. The club  continues to look for support for this event.
