CIAC girls swimming top performances thus far

Payton Foster, Greenwich: A sophomore, Foster was a triple winner in a win over Fairfield Warde. She took first in the 100-freestyle (54.19), 500-freestyle (5:06.15) and the 200 IM (2:11.09).

Grace Sweeney, Daniel Hand: A senior, Sweeney posted wins in the 500-freestyle in 5:25.18 and 200 IM in 2:18.48 in the Tigers’ win against Foran.

Marea Li, Amity: A freshman, Li has led the Spartans through four meets with best times in the 50-freestyle (25.39), 100-freestyle (55.51), 100-backstroke (1:02.59), 100-butterfly (1:00.37) and 200 IM (2:15.85).

Lauren Blake, West Haven: The sophomore won the 100-backstroke in 1:17.41 in a meet with Foran. Blake was part of the winning 400-free and 200-medley relays. She placed second in the 100-freestyle.

Miranda Bonitatebus, Ridgefield: A senior, Bonitatebus won both the 200 freestyle and the 100-butterfly in a meet with New Canaan.

Caterina Li, Greenwich: The senior placed first in the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:00.07 in a meet with Fairfield Warde. She added a victory in the 100-butterfly (59.31).

Emma Savoie, Jonathan Law: A senior quad-captain, Savoie won both the 100-backstroke (1:06.41) and the 200-freestyle (2:05.62) against Bunnell.

Julia Snow, Amity: A senior captain, Snow has been Amity’s best in the 200-freestyle in 2:05.67 and the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:33.14.

Sorina Cheng, Guilford: A sophomore, Cheng took two first-place finishers in a meet with Law. She won the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:05.39 and the 50-freestyle in 27.13.

Kacie Wines, Daniel Hand: A senior co-captain, Wines’ wins in the 100-butterfly (1:07.68) and 200 IM (2:28.72) led the way in a meet with Branford.

Taylor Niemiec, Bunnell: A senior, Niemiec was meet-best in the 100-butterfly (1:08.59) and the 200 IM (2:28.65) when the Bulldogs met Jonathan Law.
