First Team

Player of the Year

Kaleigh Harden

New Canaan, Forward, Senior

Stats: Collected 32 goals and 15 assists for 47 points to lead the Rams to a 24-0-1 record and repeat as FCIAC and CHSGHA championships… Had nine goals in five playoff games, including five in the state tournament… Scored twice in the CHSGHA final, including the game-winner in the third overtime, when New Canaan beat Darien 4-3… Finished career with 82 goals and 62 assists for 144 points.

Honors: Named to the GameTimeCT All-State team for three seasons… Received CHSGHA All-State and All-FCIAC first team honors in all four years … Was MVP of FCIAC and CHSGHA state tournaments… Earned USA Lacrosse CHSCA All-American, All-State, and All-FCIAC first team honors last year.

Off the ice: High honors since freshman season… A captain of New Canaan’s soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse teams… A member of the USA Select U18 lacrosse team in 2021… Plays and coaches in the Connecticut Grizzlies club lacrosse program.

Up next: Will play lacrosse at North Carolina next year.


Meghan Croyle

ETB, Forward, Senior

Stats: Collected 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points … Finished career with 59 goals, 47 assists and 106 points… Had a hat trick in the Storm’s 4-2 win over Stamford/Westhill/Staples in the CHSGHA tournament quarterfinals and added one more goal in a semifinal loss to New Canaan.

Honors: Named to the CHSGHA All-State first team and the All-CCC team… Also earned All-CCC honors as a junior.

Off the ice: Senior class president at East Catholic… Member of the National Honor Society… A three-sport captain for East Catholic’s field hockey and lacrosse and ETB hockey… Earned All-CCC honors in field hockey… Member of the CT Northern Lights 19U team, which won the New England regionals and will play in the USA Hockey Nationals.

Up next: Will play ice hockey at Stevenson University in Maryland next season.


Chelsea Donovan

Darien, Forward, Junior

Stats: Scored 18 goals and had 13 assists for 31 points in 22 games … In 54 career games, has 59 points in 32 goals and 27 assists… Registered a hat trick and one assist in the Wave’s 5-1 win over Avon in the CHSGHA semifinals.

Honors: Named to the CHSGHA All-State first team… An All-FCIAC first team selection after earning second team honors as a junior.

Off the ice: Co-founded and is co-president of Darien High’s Medical Interest Club, which allows members to learn more about careers in the medical field, as well as human anatomy and medicine… A volunteer EMT with Darien EMS, Post 53… CPR Coordinator at Post 53, scheduling and teaching American Heart Association CPR classes for the community… Also runs track for the Blue Wave.


Maddie Epke

Guilford, Forward, Senior

Stats: Collected 162 goals and 92 assists for 254 career points… Had 41 goals and 22 assists for 63 points in 20 games this winter… Helped lead Guilford to SCC championships during her sophomore and senior seasons… Starred for the Guilford field hockey team, which won an SCC title and a third straight Class M championship in the fall.

Honors: A three-time GameTimeCT All-State first team player… Received CHSGHA All-State first team honors in each of the past three seasons… A three-time SCC Player of the Year and All-SCC first team player… Also named the 2021 SCC Player of the Year in field hockey… The 2021 Connecticut Sports Writers Alliance Female Athlete of the Year, 

Off the ice: National Honor Society… Latin Honor Society… Symphony Orchestra member… Coaches with Nor'easter Lacrosse… Certified official for ice hockey and lacrosse.

Up next: Will play lacrosse at James Madison.


Nikki Ferraro

New Canaan, Goalie, Freshman

Stats: Set a New Canaan rookie record with nine shutouts this winter… Had a .944 save percentage while allowing just 25 goals in 25 games… Allowed one or no goals in 19 games… Collected 40 saves in a 4-3 triple overtime victory against Darien in the CHSGHA state championship game.

Honors: Named to the CHSGHA All-State and All-FCIAC first teams… One of only two goalies from the Northeast to make the U15 NTDP National Development Ice Hockey Camp in Minnesota last July… Only goalie from Connecticut to attend the CCM-STX68 showcase in Illinois.

Off the ice: On New Canaan’s high honor roll… Participates with the Filling the Blanks charity to help those in need… Received the Saxe Student Leadership Recognition Award… Plays for the Mid-Fairfield Stars U16 2006 Minor Team which won the 2022 state championship… Plays for the 2025 Connecticut Grizzlies Lacrosse team and made the 2021 CT All-Star Select Team which played in Delaware.


Meadow Gilchrist

Stamford/Westhill/Staples, Forward, Senior

Stats: Scored 32 goals and dished out 25 points for 57 points … Surpassed 100 career goals with two scores during a 7-0 win over Guilford in February… Had 106 goals in her career… Helped lead the Stamford/Westhill/Staples team to the program’s best record at 18-4-1 and its first-ever appearance in the FCIAC final… The SWS co-op also had its highest state ranking ever, earning the No. 4 seed for the CHSGHA tournament.

Honors: Named to the CHSGHA All-State and All-FCIAC first teams this year… Was a GameTimeCT All-State honorable mention as a junior… Received All-FCIAC first team honors during her sophomore season, and second team honors as a freshman and junior. 

Up next: Will play ice hockey at New England College.

Shelby Little

Avon co-op, Defense, Senior

Stats: Registered 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 19 games and had a plus-21 rating this winter… Had eight points with two goals and six assists in five postseason games… Helped the Nighthawks win the CCC championship… Finished career with 34 goals, 36 assists, 70 points and a plus-42 rating in 70 games.

Honors: Named to the CHSGHA All-State team for the third consecutive season… Received GameTimeCT All-State second team honors the past two seasons… A four-time All-CCC selection.

Off the ice: Class Salutatorian … National honor society… Summa Cum Laude Award for the National Latin Team… Nominated as a 2022 US Presidential Scholar candidate… Student Government Treasurer… High honors all four years and Received the Society of Women Engineers certificate of merit and a certificate of special recognition for excellence in engineering… Leon Club… Team member for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life… Has played hockey for the Northern Lights travel team for 10 years.

Up next: Plans to play ice hockey at UMass Amherst Commonwealth Honors College next year.


Mary McKiernan

ETB, Defense, Senior

Stats: Scored 10 goals and had 12 assists for 22 points this season… Had two goals and one assist in the Storm’s 4-2 victory over Stamford/Westhill/Staples in the state quarterfinals… Finished her career with 43 goals, 36 assists and 79 points.

Honors: A two-time selection to the GameTimeCT All-State first team and the CHSGHA All-State team… Earned All-CCC honors in each of the past two seasons.

Off the ice: An honor roll student at Glastonbury High… Also plays lacrosse for the Guardians and is the schools’ all-time leader in goals, assists and points by a defender… Member of the CT Northern Lights 19U team, which won the New England regionals and will play in the USA Hockey Nationals.

Up next: Will play hockey at Assumption next year.


Kaitlyn O’Brien

Simsbury, Goalie, Senior

Stats: Registered five shutouts in 16 games this season… Had a goals against average of 1.81 and allowed one or no goals in eight games.

Honors: The CCC co-player of the year… Named to the CHSGHA All-State first team and the All-CCC first team… Had a record of 10-4-2 as a senior.

Off the ice: Received high honors for all four years… A three-sport goalie and is the starter for Simsbury’s field hockey and lacrosse teams… Twice named to the All-State Class M team in field hockey… A member of the CCC All-Academic team this year. 

Up next: Undecided on a college destination but hopes to continue her ice hockey career at the next level.


Nicole Partridge

Avon co-op, Forward, Junior

Stats: Avon’s all-time leading scorer with 40 goals and 37 assists in 53 games the past three seasons… Had 38 points on 17 goals and 21 assists in 20 games this winter… Was a plus-21 in 20 games this season and is plus-49 for her career… Scored four goals and had two assists during two games while leading the Nighthawks to the CCC tournament championship.

Honors: Earned MVP honors for the CCC tournament… Named to the 2022 CHSGHA All-State first team and the 2022 and 2022 All-CCC teams.

Off the ice: A member of the hiking club and the amnesty club at Wethersfield…. Volunteers with the Central Connecticut Youth Hockey Association…  High honors all three years in high school… Plays varsity lacrosse for Wethersfield and travel hockey for Mid-Fairfield.

Up next: Has one more high school year left and plans to play ice hockey in college.


Ceci Stein

Darien, Defense, Senior

Stats: Led a Blue Wave defense which had eight shutouts and and allowed just 35 goals in 22 games as Darien went 16-5-1 and finished as the CHSGHA state tournament runner-up… Scored six goals and dished out 10 assists as a senior… Had 40 points in three seasons, as she was sidelined with an injury during her sophomore year.

Honors: Named to the CHSGHA All-State first team this winter… Earned All-FCIAC first team honors for the past two seasons.

Off the ice: As a junior, received the William & Mary Book Award for outstanding leadership in academics… Member of the DHS Math Modeling Club… Captain of Darien’s ice hockey and lacrosse teams… Four-year varsity player for both teams… US Lacrosse All-American as a junior… Member of the USA U18 Women’s Lacrosse Development Team in 2021.

Up next: Will play lacrosse for Michigan.


Lexie Tully

New Canaan, Defense, Sophomore

Stats: Had four goals and 20 assists for 24 points in 25 games… Had a goal and two assists in the Rams’ 4-1 win over ETB in the CHSGHA state semifinals… Led a defense which had nine shutouts and allowed just 25 goals in 25 games this season… Helped New Canaan go undefeated at 24-0-1 and win repeat FCIAC and CHSGHA state championships.

Honors: Named to the CHSGHA All-State first team and the All-FCIAC first team… Earned All-FCIAC second team honors and a GameTimeCT All-State honorable mention last year.

Off the ice: High honor roll in all six quarters to date… Provides youth ice hockey and lacrosse lessons.
