A look at some of the top performances from Saturday’s football championship games:

Class LL: Greenwich 37, Fairfield Prep 17

Sergot Boone, Greenwich: Kicked a 31-yard field goal and was 5-for-5 on PAT tries.

Charlie Dixon, Greenwich: Three interceptions, including a pick-six; five catches for 61 yards; a highlight-reel tackle; a time-killing safety to avoid punting from the end zone.

George Vomvolakis, Greenwich: Ran for 152 yards on 21 carries with two touchdowns, one of them for 63 yards in the fourth quarter.

Jack Wilson, Greenwich: Was 11-for-19 for 116 yards and ran for two 1-yard touchdowns.

Class L: New Canaan 16, Maloney 13

Griffin Gentner, New Canaan: Two interceptions.

Ty Groff, New Canaan: His first field goal (41 yards) was the 25th of his career, a state record. His second field goal (24 yards) was his 14th of the season, a state record. His third field goal (19 yards with 2:34 left) won the Rams the championship.

 

Hunter Telesco, New Canaan: Ran for 107 yards on 30 carries, including the 1-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter with Groff’s point-after kick.

Marquis Ward, Maloney: Scored on a 95-yard kickoff return to give the Spartans a lead into halftime.

Class MM: North Haven 51, Killingly 34

Declan Finkle, North Haven: Was 7-for-7 on extra points and had tackles on two kickoffs.

Jeffrey Karavas, North Haven: Ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.

Chayse Mangino, North Haven: Pressure on quarterback Thomas Dreibholz forced intentional grounding in the end zone and a safety.

Adam Pandolfi, North Haven: Ran for 99 yards and the tiebreaking two touchdowns early in the second half.

Class M: Notre Dame-West Haven 35, Berlin 8

Dom Basti, Notre Dame: Interception in the first half helped the Green Knights double their lead to 14-0 before halftime.

Will Panza, Notre Dame: Interception to start the third quarter preserved that 14-0 lead and helped the defense hold Berlin to 109 total yards.

Matthew Piechota, Notre Dame: Quarterback was 17-for-24 for 208 yards and three touchdowns.

Jacob Staton, Notre Dame: Had 24 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

Class SS: Barlow 61, Valley Regional/Old Lyme 6

Charlie Basta, Barlow: Returned an interception 68 yards for a touchdown.

Cole Peterson, Barlow: Blocked a punt into the end zone, where Liam Kiernan recovered for a touchdown.

Scott Romano, Barlow: Eight carries for 87 yards and a score.

Danny Shaban, Barlow: Ran for 175 yards, scored five touchdowns and completed his only two passes.

Class S: Ansonia 28, Bloomfield 21

David Cassetti, Ansonia: Ran for 171 yards on 34 carries, threw a touchdown pass and ran for the go-ahead two-point conversion.

Christopher Kaminski, Ansonia: Ran for touchdowns of 20 and, on a fourth-and-3 play, 23 yards in the second half as the Chargers came back; he also had a first-quarter touchdown run.

Davien Kerr, Bloomfield: Ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

Paul Palmer, Ansonia: Caught a touchdown pass and was 2-for-2 on point-after kicks.
