The first day of fall is still more than a month away, but pumpkin spice season continues to creep into August, as coffee drinkers anticipate the fall flavors earlier each year.

Dunkin' will bring back its pumpkin coffees and treats on Aug. 17, including the return of its pumpkin cream cold brew with pumpkin-flavored cold foam, a pumpkin spice signature latte and pumpkin-flavored coffees. A new option, Nutty Pumpkin Coffee, features Dunkin' original blend iced coffee with pumpkin spice swirl, hazelnut flavor shot and cream, available hot or iced.

Other fall-flavored beverages include a new Blood Orange Refresher. Pumpkin-flavored doughnuts, Munchkin doughnut holes and muffins also return, alongside a maple sugar bacon croissant breakfast sandwich.

Starbucks has not yet released the official date for its cult-favorite PSL (last year, the drink hit stores on Aug. 24) but its fall-flavored coffees and creamers are back on grocery shelves as of this month. Items include a pumpkin cream nitro cold brew, salted caramel mocha and pumpkin spice-flavored coffees, pumpkin spice cold brew concentrate and pumpkin spice creamer.

Pumpkin spice lattes and coffees showed up early at 7-Eleven this year, as the convenience retailer rolled out the fall flavors on Aug. 5.

"There's no denying that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is a quintessential fall drink—it's become a cultural phenomenon loved by coffee drinkers everywhere," said Dennis Phelps, 7-Eleven's proprietary beverages senior product director, in a news release.

On the local coffee scene, fall flavors have arrived at TJ's Burritos in East Granby. The casual eatery, which functions as a coffeehouse and beach-themed burrito shop, has introduced housemade latte syrups for its new fall drinks, including pumpkin, pumpkin chai, bourbon caramel and apple spice.
