Television news viewers in Connecticut have seen several beloved news anchors part ways over the airwaves in the past year. In June 2021, viewers wished WTNH’s Teresa Dufour well when she announced she was leaving the station to pursue other endeavors. Eight months later in February 2022, NBC Connecticut news anchor Dan Corcoran announced he was leaving his role after seven years with the station.

With NBC Connecticut’s most recent departure exactly one month ago, some viewers might have noticed another vacancy at the station’s anchor desk. Morning anchor Ted Koppy hasn’t been in his usual seat at the desk since March 18, and he hasn’t posted to his Facebook or Twitter accounts in the time since.

According to Koppy’s Facebook page, the last posts shared to his account were weather centric, with one noting the sunrise on March 18 and the other asking followers to like the post if they remembered what ice scrapers were.

While his Facebook and Twitter accounts have been silent since, his morning co-anchor Heidi Voight dispelled the mystery on Koppy’s whereabouts. In a March 21 Facebook post, Voight noted that Koppy was “getting some well-deserved vacation” and reporter Mike Massaro would be filling in during his absence.

There is no word yet on when Koppy will return to NBC Connecticut’s morning news.
