Larry Rifkin, a Waterbury resident for most of his life, has spent five decades in the broadcasting business, taking on roles such as television programming executive, radio personality and now, podcaster.
As programming executive for Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) from 1986 to 2009, he helped CPTV amass more than 50 Emmy Awards in the Boston/New England competition. Rifkin was also the reason “Barney & Friends” came to PBS, and he led the charge to bring UConn Women’s basketball to television.
