Window art

Artists seeking exposure are invited to enter the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut’s 2015 Accessible Art program, an annual year-long, multi-site series. The alliance offers spaces for exhibitions inside shops, businesses, and organizations as well as, newly added, installations in the windows of storefronts.

The deadline for entries is Friday, Nov. 21, for scheduled exhibitions between Jan. 19 through Dec. 31, 2015.

The program’s intent is to provide an opportunity for artists to show work in alternative spaces and to make art more accessible to the general public, while also a way for business leaders to leverage creative talent to promote economic development and bring life to downtown communities. Accessible Art has presented almost 100 local and regional visual artists since its inception.

Artists are selected by a jury, based on submissions, to exhibit at a location for approximately six to eight weeks. Artists may be selected for a solo show or as part of a group show. Artists may also be selected for more than one location.

Artists may submit a minimum of four renderings or sample photos of previous installation work, up to a maximum of 12 items.
