News Notes: More than a grain of salt

Readers of these pages may remember this photo from last week that shows a nearly empty salt storage garage at the town hall complex. The situation is vastly different today as First Selectman Bill Brennan reported 400 tons of salt were delivered on Friday.

The material had been back-ordered for six weeks.

“We’re OK,” Mr. Brennan said. “We’re good for the rest of the winter.”

The way things have been going, another storm is not unlikely and Mr. Brennan wanted Wiltonians to rest assured the public works department has enough sand and salt to clear roads in the event of more snow.
