Wilton’s summer unofficially began with Memorial Day, but it gets into full swing on Tuesday with a Fourth of July celebration. Always popular, this family-friendly event promised to once again be lots of fun.
The day starts off with the Freedom Run 5K race on Tuesday morning. Then it’s the Democrats vs. the Republicans for the coveted trophy — a tin bucket — in the Frivolity Bowl.
A DJ will start the music around 5 on the grounds at Wilton High School and dancing is definitely encouraged. While lots of folks like to picnic, there will be food trucks for those who prefer to purchase their dinner.
The main event, of course, is after dark — around 9:30 — with a traditional fireworks display.
