Stamford Health announced that Kathleen Silard, RN, has been named as the organization\u2019s new president and chief executive officer. Silard will lead the independent nonprofit health system, which includes Stamford Hospital, on the Bennett Medical Center campus, Stamford Health Medical Group, and the Stamford Hospital Foundation. Stamford Health has offices in Wilton. Silard joined Stamford Health in 2003 as executive vice president and chief operating officer, and has provided clinical and operational leadership to the growing health system. She led the organization\u2019s facility master planning and was instrumental in opening the new Stamford Hospital on time and under budget in 2016. Silard also helped develop the Cohen Pediatric Emergency Department \u2014 the first dedicated pediatric emergency department in Fairfield County \u2014 under the Cohen Children\u2019s Institute, which provides inpatient and outpatient services. A resident of Greenwich, Silard started her career as a nurse in the pediatrics and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Albert Einstein Hospital in New York.
