Employees and partners of Reynolds & Rowella donated a Day of Caring on Aug. 19 to make improvements at the 149-acre Woodcock Nature Center on Deer Run Road in Wilton. As a source of environmental education where visitors can see protected wildlife and experience the natural surroundings from walking trails and boardwalks over abundant woods and wetlands, the center hosts more than 3,000 young people a year through its summer camp programs, school field trips and on-site birthday parties. Open to the public every day from dawn to dusk, visitors to the Woodcock Nature Center come from the towns of Wilton, Ridgefield and Redding. Volunteers from Reynolds & Rowella worked outdoors at the nature center to paint the owl enclosure and put up new wire mesh, dig up vegetation, and lay down weed block and gravel inside and in front of the large bird enclosure. Volunteers also cleaned windows and floors in the nature center building.
