Yellow roses became a symbol of kindness Oct. 7 in Wilton Center when volunteers distributed 500 of them to passersby in their cars, just for being in Wilton.
“We had perfect weather and a great turnout of volunteers,” said Debra Hanson, executive director of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce, who said The Village Market donated the roses.
Hand-out sheets to alert people downtown of the event were donated by Prosperous Printing.
“We had with us today Lt. Robert Cipolla, Sergeant Dave Hartman and Officer Rob Smaldone, of the Wilton Police Department to hand out beautiful yellow roses to pleasantly surprised motorists and passersby. We simply wished them a nice day,” Hanson said.
