What’s opened, closed this Christmas?

Christmas Eve is Wednesday, Dec. 24. It is not a federal holiday.

Christmas Day is Thursday, Dec. 25. It is a federal holiday.

Wilton town offices will be closed Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26.

Wilton Public Schools will be closed Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2.

Wilton Library will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Wilton Historical Society will be closed Christmas Day.

Wilton Senior Center will be closed Christmas Day, as well as Dec. 26.

Wilton Transfer Station will be closed Christmas Day and Saturday, Dec. 27.

Post offices will be closed Christmas Day.

Banks will be closed Christmas Day.

Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed Christmas Day and reopen at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26.

MDM Sanitation and D.A. Vento Refuse Co. will be closed Christmas Day.

Metro-North will have early getaway trains departing Grand Central beginning at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and some evening trains may be canceled or combined.  A special holiday schedule will be in effect with hourly services Christmas Day. A Saturday schedule will be in effect Dec. 26, with additional morning and evening outbound trains. Metro-North will operate a weekend schedule on Dec. 27-28, and a weekday schedule with slightly reduced morning peak services and additional inbound service operated in the late morning on Dec. 29-30.

Many stores and services, such as pharmacies, will have limited hours on Christmas Eve, with most closed on Christmas Day.

The Bulletin will be closed Dec. 25-26. Press releases for next week should be sent today, Dec. 24. Next week's paper will be published Wednesday, Dec. 31.
