Today debut

Wilton entrepreneurs Margaret Sapir and Mitchell Rapoport, owners of Wave Hill Breads, appeared on NBC’s Today show on Friday, June 27.

“Our Wilton neighbors might be interested in our TV ‘debut’ profiling my husband and me and our business, Wave Hill Breads. We started in Wilton in the summer of 2005 at the Weston Farmers’ Market,” said Ms. Sapir in an email to The Bulletin earlier this week.

The couple began distribution of their breads at a couple of farmers’ markets within 10 miles of Wilton, and by 2013 Wave Hill loaves could be found at 13 farmers’ markets, as well as 50 stores, and 30 restaurants in Connecticut.

The artisan micro bakery founded in Wilton (the shop that used to be on Danbury Road here moved to 30 High Street, Norwalk in 2011) was selected by the editors of Connecticut Magazine as makers of the “best bread” in Connecticut for 2013.
