The Wilton Woman’s Club is sponsoring a Warrior Ride on Thursday, Oct. 8, at noon, at the JoyRide cycling studio at 3 Godfrey Place. The club is donating all proceeds from the ride to Wilton Social Services to start the holiday fund to purchase gifts for clients’ children.
“We have been donating the proceeds to Wilton Social Services as we get sign-ups,” said event coordinator Deborah Corrigan, “and have already been able to give them several hundred dollars. We’re looking forward to being able to give them a big check once the studio is filled.”
The JoyRide studio has 36 bikes, and each rider will be automatically entered into a contest for two JetBlue Airways tickets to anywhere they fly, creating a great opportunity to win. Jade Active Wear is also offering a gift certificate in the contest. Entrants must be present at the event to win.
Online sign up for the Warrior Ride is on the Wilton Woman’s Club website at wiltonwomansclub.org. After signing up and paying, registrants go to the JoyRide website (joyridewilton.com) to reserve a bike. Café Ruche will also be offering free smoothie tastings in the JoyLounge after the event.
“This is a great event to kick off fall and indoor exercise, as well as to catch up with friends and meet new people,” said woman’s club co-president Stacy Crameri. “We’re looking forward to a lot of people in the community who love spinning — or who have not even tried it before — to sign up because they want to support this great cause with Wilton Social Services,” added co-president Donna Sargeantson. “I am completely new to spinning, so that will be extra added comic entertainment for everyone,” mentioned marketing chair Andrea Bates.
