Santos leads charity spin class

Wiltonian Selina Santos will teach a spin class for charity at JoyRide Westport on Sept. 20 at noon.
The proceeds of bikes booked will benefit the Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) Walk for Food Allergy in Connecticut, which will occur on Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. in Westport.
Santos has two children with food allergies. Her daughter is allergic to peanuts and fish and her son is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and all seafood.
“I’ve held both of my children during an anaphylactic reaction,” Santos said. “I’ve felt them gasp for air and their bodies go limp.
“What prepared me for handling those moments was allergy awareness,” she said.
Donations may be made on the day of the event. A bike costs a minimum $40 donation to book.
