Mitchell recertified

Bo Mitchell, a Wiltonian who runs 911 Consulting, has been recertified as a Certified Emergency Manager, a press release said.
“This is the most difficult and prestigious certification in the world for the safety of citizens in the workplace or at home,” said Mitchell. “The International Association of Emergency Managers sets very high standards to be certified CEM. And every five years, they demand currency in training and experience to their high standards to keep that certification.”
Mitchell was first awarded CEM in 2009 when there were fewer than 1,000 certified worldwide. At that time, only four of the managers were from Connecticut, all of them in state and local governments, Mitchell said.
“There are only a few CEMs in the private sector. This will grow as companies and private-sector campuses, schools and medical facilities demand professional emergency planning and training required for all workplaces by federal and Connecticut law,” he said.
