Jonathon K. Rosen named lung association chair

Jonathon K. Rosen of Wilton has been appointed chair of the American Lung Association of the Northeast’s 25-member Board of Directors, effective July 1.
The northeast branch serves Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Rosen is founder and president of Impact Communications, a presentation and media training practice based in Wilton aimed at business, nonprofit and public sector executives.
He got his start with the American Lung Association as a volunteer leader 34 years ago in New York’s Hudson Valley. He served four terms as president of the board.
Subsequently, Rosen served on the board of the American Lung Association in New York as a general board member.
According to a press release, Rosen is “all too familiar with the toll that lung disease can take on not only those affected, but also their loved ones, having lost his father to emphysema, a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).”
Rosen was a member of the association’s nationwide Marketing Communications Task Force where he “played a leading role in marketing, media relations, fundraising and finance at the national and local levels,” according to the release.
He has also served on the association’s Nationwide Assembly, Chairs Assembly and the National Board of Directors, chairing the Marketing Communications Work Group for two years.
“I am honored and humbled,” said Rosen, “by my appointment and look forward to working with an extraordinary Northeast team to fulfill our mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.”
At his new position, Rosen will work with the Northeast board to further the association’s research, education and advocacy initiatives to the coverage of all lung diseases, including asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and lung cancer.
“Jon’s dedication to the American Lung Association’s lifesaving mission is exemplary,” said Jeff Seyler, president and CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast. “We know that Jon’s commitment to improving the lives of people suffering from all lung diseases will help keep our organization moving forward.”
Before founding Impact Communications, Rosen was an award-winning television news journalist at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, WABC-TV in New York and “Good Morning, America.”
Rosen earned bachelor of arts degrees with honors in both psychology and Spanish from New York University.
Rosen was chair-elect before being named Chair. Dr. David Hill of Waterbury will fill the vacancy.
