Fairfield County Bank, which has a branch in Wilton, donated $5,000 to the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk to help support the Smilow SoNo Life Center. The bank will be partnering with the life center to offer financial training to its clients and become involved in the shelter’s activities.
The Smilow Sono Life Center will be built in a historic factory building. The 19,800-square-foot building will be completely restored and house 16 efficiency apartments, a job-training facility and a neighborhood health center that will offer mental health and substance abuse counseling services. The Life Center will serve both individuals and families of the working poor and the homeless community.
