Cannondale bikes recalled

Cycling Sports Group, the parent company of Cannondale, is recalling about 3,500 Cannondale Bad Boy and Bad Girl commuter bikes because the front hub axle can fail. The recall involves bikes manufactured between 2010 and 2012.

The company sold about 3,100 of the affected bikes in the U.S. and 400 in Canada. Consumers are being told to stop using the bikes and take them to a Cannondale dealer for a free repair.

According to Cannondale, the fork leg can fatigue and crack adjacent to the axle, which in turn can cause the front axle to separate from the fork.

Consumers can contact Cannondale at 800-726-2453 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, by email at or online at

The bikes were made by Post Moderne Tech Corp., of Taiwan and sold by Cannondale dealers nationwide from June 2010 through December 2014 for between $1,000 and $1,800.
