Business workshops on social media, goal-setting

SCORE Fairfield County will sponsor two free business workshops — the first being "Setting Goals and Staying On Track" on Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road, Westport. This is a “pragmatic approach to running your business with greater focus, alignment, and odds of success,” according to SCORE. The speaker will be David Albright, former president of Pepperidge Farm, Inc., Godiva Chocolatier Worldwide and Glacial Confections, a start-up venture. He currently consults with venture capital firms on the food and confectionery industries.

"The Legal Issues of Social Media" will be presented Thursday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the New Canaan Library, 151 Main Street. The speaker will be Cliff Ennico, a former Wall Street attorney and author of 10 books on entrepreneurship and small business success. He speaks nationwide to corporations, business groups and professional organizations on legal and tax issues affecting entrepreneurs, technology companies and e-commerce platforms.
