Blue Buffalo donates $20,000 to Ambler

The community should see an uptick in educational programs, improved gardens, and restored buildings at Ambler Farm thanks to a $20,000 grant from Blue Buffalo, the pet food company headquartered in Wilton.

The Friends of Ambler Farm will receive the gift over the next two years.

“We are delighted to receive such funds which will help us to deliver educational programs to children and adults, improve Ambler Farm’s gardens, and restore its historic buildings,” said Robin Clune, Ambler Farm’s executive director.

Ambler Farm is owned by the town of Wilton and operated by the Friends of Ambler Farm, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, for the community’s benefit as an organic farm, educational resource and open space.

“The mission of the Friends of Ambler Farm is to enrich our community through a celebration of our agrarian heritage, active learning programs, sustainable agriculture and historic appreciation,” a press release said. “Ambler Farm is a restored, self-sustaining farm ‘where good things grow’ — a place to connect with the magic of the land and the spirit of community.”

Ambler Farm is at 257 Hurlbutt Street and is open year-around from dawn to dusk.
